Was quite happy to find Bossa @ sickboards as one of the few premium LDP platform providers next to 1166 and subsonic! After using my gbomb freewill platform for the last 2 years in combination with dont trip poppys and kegel/3dm avila I felt like I wanted a slightly more flexy deck because the freewill platform was fairly stiff afterall. kept reading about bossa .. and gbomb themselves offer completes with the bossa 29” platform as well by now - so I went for it.
with my 85kg I picked the M version and, while I think the board feels REALLY great and responsive for surfy relaxed pumping, it is clearly too soft for the deep drop setup with my weight - kept bottoming out the deck under heavy carving/pumping which is a shame for the beautiful roadside carbon finish.
the ride quality is superb, very responsive energetic pumping, even downhill carving was really fun with my LDP truck setup because I felt I could store so much more energy compared to the freewill gbomb platform (which feels downright dead in comparison). the front foot width and concave is perfect, not a fan of the slim middle section because I like to have the rear foot a little closer to the front truck which was probably not intended for this platform … but I got used to it quickly and it was ok. feels better to have the foot near the back truck for carving, but further in front for pumping.
pushing went naturally well thanks to the deep drop gbomb brackets, I like how the board slims down towards the end. with the narrow board and a narrow hangar width, youll never have foot vs. wheel issues and you certainly wont run into wheel bites.
only complaint I got is the finish, which made me consider giving only 4 out of 5 stars (but then I didnt, because in the end just the ride quality matters). my board came with several dents and scratches, the sanded edges were quite irregular and it felt a little rushed. not the finish quality you expect by a 190€ niche product from brazil.
